The Festivalists regularly organise film premieres, previews and parties in an effort to showcase and develop audiences for independent and world cinema, often in cooperation with corporate, institutional or community organisations.

June 9th 2006 - Premiere of "Figures and Loops" featuring filmmaker David Regos

A delightful look into the little known sub-culture that is artistic roller skating, Figures and Loops follows a group of competitors throughout the course of a skating season. From local competitions in small town California through to the highly competitive World Championships in Germany, this is a glitter-filled snapshot of what it takes to make it in this incredible underground sport.

The Festivalists presented a special screening of Figures and Loops, Friday June 9th 2006 at 7pm, Mori Gallery, 168 Day Street, Sydney 2001. The screening was followed by a question and answer session with filmmaker David Regos and a party featuring tasty home-cooked food, delicious wine and lucky door prizes.

March 8th 2006 - Australian Premiere of "Sabah" to celebrate International Women's Day

This event was hosted by L Richard Kohler, Consul General of Canada.

Canadian producer Tracey Boulton presented the Australian premiere of the award-winning film "Sabah", directed by Ruba Nadda.

Taking place at Cinema Paris in the Fox Studios, the screening was followed by a glitzy party featuring belly-dancing and delicious Lebanese food by George Khouzame.

The evening was presented by Globus, the world leader in first class escorted travel. Partners included The City of Sydney, Four Seasons Hotel, Potential Films, Inside Film Magazine and Delatite Wines.
