Mathieu Ravier is originally from France but has lived and studied/worked in San Francisco, Tokyo, Paris, Toronto, Hong Kong and Manchester. He now lives in Sydney. He has an Masters in Management and a Masters in Business Administration. Matt was the artistic director of the Commonwealth Film Festival before starting The Festivalists in 2005. He also works as a consultant, journalist and lecturer. He is passionate about cinema in all its forms. Favourite film: Gus Van Sant's Gerry.
Karina Libbey has a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) from University of NSW, majoring in Film and History. After years of volunteering at various film and art festivals, she met The Festivalists in 2007 and never left. She has worked across The Festivalists portfolio of events gaining extensive experience in event production and management, and festival programming. Favourite Films: Drop Dead Gorgeous & All About Eve
Penny Salway graduated from BA Communications at Charles Sturt University and has since travelled around working in events and festivals. Penny has recently returned from London, where was working as a freelance production/stage manager. Penny has worked at various festivals around the world including Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Adelaide Fringe Festival, Latitude Festival and T4 On The Beach. Favourite Film: The Madagascar Trilogy. (they are ALL good!)
Between her work-life and her personal life, it could potentially be said that Caroline Fanning just can’t get enough of events. An Arts graduate from the University of Sydney, she spent two and a half years doing bookings and event management for Century Venues. In her spare time, between going to gigs & festivals, Caroline is a board member for the Young Centenary Foundation, a fundraising charity. Her poison of choice is tequila, and her guilty pleasure is a good old fashioned Chomp. Favourite Movie: The First Wives Club
Graduating from Charles Sturt University in 2011 with a Bachelor in Communications – Theatre/Media, Shane Addison has spent the last 2 years working around Australia in Theatre and event production. Outside of his work with The Festivalists, he occasionally performs open mic stand-up comedy, produces independent theatre shows and makes short films. Favorite films: Amadeus.
Samuel Hilton first became involved with The Festivalists & Kino Sydney in 2007. In the intermitting years, Samuel developed a passion for film and arts events on the UK festival circuit and is currently completing a Masters in Event Management. Samuel is also an avid filmmaker & writer, having written and directed over 30 short films and contributed articles to cultural publications in both London and Sydney. Favourite film: City of God
Patricia Laksmono is originally from Indonesia, but moved to Australia in mid 2005. She got a Masters in Film and Television Studies from Griffith University, Brisbane, after she finished her study in Design Communication Visual back in Indonesia. Before joining the team, she was working as Marketing Coordinator for the Asia Pacific Screen Awards (2007-2013). She is passionate about film, design, animation and cooking (and eating it too!). Favorite films: Anything by Tim Burton, The Departures and Lord of The Rings Trilogy.
