The Festivalists is a Sydney-based non-profit company founded in 2005. Our team is dedicated to the production, programming and marketing of unique events.
We bring together artists, unusual spaces and new ideas to create stimulating, interactive cultural experiences. From accessible film festivals to parties in iconic venues, our mission is to infuse culture with fun, and develop local audiences for Australian and international artists.

Mathieu Ravier is originally from France but has lived and studied/worked in San Francisco, Tokyo, Paris, Toronto, Hong Kong and Manchester. He now lives in Sydney. He has an Masters in Management and an MBA. Matt was the artistic director of the Commonwealth Film Festival before starting The Festivalists in 2005. He also works as a consultant, journalist and lecturer. He is passionate about cinema in all its forms. Favourite film: Gus Van Sant's Gerry.
Karina Libbey has a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) from University of NSW, majoring in Film and History. After years of volunteering at various film and art festivals, she met The Festivalists in 2007 and never left. She has worked across The Festivalists portfolio of events gaining extensive experience in event production and management, and festival programming. Samuel Hiltonfirst became involved with The Festivalists & Kino Sydney in 2007. In the intermitting years, Samuel developed a passion for film and arts events on the UK festival circuit and is currently completing a Masters in Event Management. Samuel is also an avid filmmaker & writer, having written and directed over 30 short films and contributed articles to cultural publications in both London and Sydney. Favourite film: City of God
